The formation of beautiful melanterite in Filon Norte during cold days soon after raining, is an interesting phenomenon. Occasionally, the crystals are up to 5-10 cm., covering dozens of square meters of soil under the massive pyrite stockpiles. (Author: Cesar M. Salvan)
